What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site can store on your device. We also use local storage, which is similar but stays in the browser and is not sent to us until you email a request. This policy covers both.
Necessary
These do not require a marketing choice. They remember your banner decision and keep the request list on your device.
| Name | Where | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent | This browser | Stores your analytics and marketing choice | Until you clear it, treated as 1 year |
| drv_quote_v1 | Local storage | The gear request list on this device | Until you clear site data |
Analytics, only if you accept
No Google Analytics tag is loaded in the site files as published. If we add one later, it will run only after you accept analytics cookies. The usual names are below.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguish browsers for visit counts | Up to 2 years | |
| _gid | Distinguish browsers for a short window | 24 hours | |
| _gat | Throttle request rate | 1 minute |
Marketing, only if you accept
Marketing cookies are used to measure ads and, where allowed, to make ads more relevant. They stay off unless you accept them and a tag exists. The public site ships with ad storage denied.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Measure ad conversions | About 90 days | |
| IDE | Advertising on Google services | Up to 1 year |
How to choose
- Use Accept all, Necessary only, or Settings on the banner.
- Open Cookie settings in the footer later. That choice replaces the previous one.
- Block cookies in the browser. The request list may reset if you block local storage.
- Opt out of some interest-based ads at aboutads.info and in your Google Ads Settings.
Google’s own policies
If a Google tag is enabled, Google’s handling of that data is described at policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
