A weekend list from the counter

A shade canopy over a picnic table at a campsite.

People stop on South Nova Road on the way to a site and try to remember everything in the parking lot. The list that actually gets used is short. Shade, drinking water, a light, something cold, and — if a camper is involved — the two hoses that must not touch.

Shade is the Nova Shade 10×10 if you have a pad that will take stakes. Ocean-side wind is not a decoration. If the site forbids stakes, tell us before you count on the canopy. A folding chair is $36 each. The request should say how many people are sitting down.

The Saltbox cooler is 20 quarts, which is a day of drinks and not a week of groceries. Ice is not in the price. The Pier Lantern is enough to find a step at night and not enough to light a whole site like a driveway. Charge it before you leave the counter if you can. The cable is in the box.

If you are in a camper, buy the white drinking-water hose and the sewer hose as two lines. The white one fills the fresh tank. The other one is for a dump station. Storing them together, or using one for both jobs, is how a fresh tank gets a smell you will not enjoy explaining. Jack pads matter when the ground is sandy. Wheel chocks are a pair, and they do not replace the brake.

Send one request with the catalog numbers rather than five phone calls. Pickup is free if we have the pieces and we confirm before 3 p.m. The rental desk is the same phone number, but a camper for the weekend is quoted separately from this list.
